Northstar offers a different type of cross country skiing experience from some of the other skiing areas in the region. One of the main reasons for this is that you are required to purchase a trail pass from the village center. Once you have done this you are required to take a gondola ride or the village express chair lift in order to reach the resorts 50 km of trails. The resorts trail system highlights include complimentary hot drinks and three modern warming huts.

Tahoe Cross-Country Skiing Area

Offering over 65 km of well groomed trails spread over 19 individual trails; free lessons are available for beginners various times throughout the winter. One of a very few skiing areas that allows you have your dogs with you. If you are taking your dog with you to the skiing area then you will be required to buy a dog pass which costs $4 for the day.
