Lake Tahoe has something to offer everyone all year round but the Lake really comes into its own during the summer months. The Summer events that take place in and round Lake Tahoe come in all manner of shapes and sizes from paddle board invitational, artist markets that take place at the state park at Kings beach or the more laid back Shakespeare festival that takes place at the sand Harbor state park.

If sporting events are your thing then there’s the Reno/ Tahoe Odyssey run which is a grueling multi day sporting event, or why not try the great lake bike race which takes place near the end of the summer which sees hundreds of bikers circling the lake. The bike race alone draws in hundreds of visitors to the lake every summer from everyday novices as well as professional mountain bikers. If sporting events are too much like hard work and you prefer something a little more laid back then you can enjoy the Concours d’ elegance wooden boat week event, this weekend is a boaters paradise.

The many high quality golf courses that are scattered around the lake hold a number of celebrity style golf tournaments during the summer months. You could also sail in the annual Trans Tahoe Regatta (although you will need to register) or you could find a relaxing picnic spot along the shoreline where you can enjoy the race. If you’re staying at the lake for the 4th of July weekend then you can enjoy a number of spectacular firework displays that take place over three or four days around the holiday weekend, there is also live music and entertainment.

Harvey’s Stateline is host to a series of outdoor music concerts which is an incredible way to enjoy some great live music from your favorite bands. The concerts also come with the offer of resort style all inclusive accommodation.  Summer really does bring Lake Tahoe to life there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.
