The boreal resort has an annual average snowfall of around 400 inches and prides itself in being the first ski resort in North California to start up its chair lifts every single ski season. For the environmentally conscious skiers and riders you will be pleased to know that the Boreal resort offsets all of its electricity usage by purchasing green energy. Whilst the resort is not as large as some of the more popular ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, its 380 acres of terrain includes an impressive 41 trails. There is a top elevation of 7700 feet at the boreal resort and the longest run is approximately 1 mile long. Whilst the trails at Boreal are suitable for all skill and ability levels the majority of these are for beginners and intermediate level making Boreal ideal for families and newcomers.
